Rane Corp. Drag Net v. 3.0

The version 3.0 release of Drag Net software offers several additions and enhancements

to Rane’s drag-and-drop-configurable digital signal-processing (DSP)–based products

like the new RPM 2. The new version includes the Perfect-Q graphic equalizer,

ambient noise compensator, and deluxe mono or stereo sidechain compressor. The

Perfect-Q uses Rane’s patent-pending DSP technology to provide accurate response

and eliminate the adjacent band interaction inherent in traditional graphic

equalizers. The ambient noise compensator automatically adjusts program level

to match changes in background noise. The sidechain compressor smooths out variations

in program material and includes a soft knee setting to further tailor dynamic

response.

requiring full flexibility in audio signal processing. Occupying only a single

rackspace, the RPM 2 features two analog line-level inputs and two balanced

line-level outputs, all using Euro-style (Phoenix) barrier connectors. Eight

logic inputs permit remote preset recall or “pot-on-a-wall” volume adjustment.

Standard 10Base-T Ethernet is used for configuration and control, allowing for

SpeakerCraft COM 65

The COM 65 two-way, 6-inch, flushmounted, coaxial ceiling speaker is available

in both 70V and 8Ω versions. SpeakerCraft’s WavePlane proprietary technology

prevents high frequencies from bouncing off the modulating woofer surface. It

also creates a more coherent dispersion pattern. A pivoting tweeter assembly

allows the system designer to focus directional high frequencies toward the

listening area or reflect those frequencies off an adjacent surface. The integrated

back can is part of a sealed, vented enclosure enhancing bass response and providing

the required fire rating. The tile bridge, which collapses to be inserted into

the hole when access above the ceiling is not available, is included in the

package. In the 70V version, the COM 65T, a rotary switch mounted on the baffle

behind the grille can select multiple transformer taps.
