To commemorate the beginning of China’s Dragon Boat Festival, 1500 drones formed a giant flying dragon in an aerial show that captivated crowds. The city of Shenzen welcomed more than 3 million visitors during the three day festival.
The festival, which pays tribute to an ancient poem by poet and politician Qu Yuan, is celebrated each year with dragon boat races and the eating of sticky rice dumplings. According to the Shenzhen Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Industry Association, Shenzen accounts for more than 70% of the country’s consumer drones and 50% of industrial drones. The drone show was provided by Shenzen Damoda.
