Last weekend saw the Las Vegas Sphere hold its first ever sports event as the Ultimate Fighting Championship brought its UFC 306 card to the venue. The event, themed “Noche UFC” for Mexican Independence Day, saw animated vignettes as well as static images played in between each fight. UFC’s first foray at the Sphere has been well received by enthusiasts that were present in person, as well as those who watched the televised broadcast. Though deemed a success, there are no current plans for UFC to return to the Sphere, as the league has a venue contract with MGM.
