Lenovo announces Chromebox Micro for kiosks and digital signage

New Chromebox has similar dimensions as a smartphone, allows remote management of devices

Lenovo has unveiled a new iteration of their Chromebox line in a miniature size. Positioned for enterprise use cases, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro was created for 24/7 running of kiosks and digital signage solutions.

Measuring 163 x 79 mm (6.4 x 3,1 in), the Chromebox Micro is roughly the size of a smartphone, and was designed with screw holes for easy mounting. Connectivity options include USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI ports.

“The Lenovo Chromebox Micro is the most compact, affordable Chromebox yet, purpose-built from the inside out for kiosk, digital signage, and shared workstations,” said Bryan Lee, VP of ChromeOS and Education, Google. “It was designed at the core to be a pocket-sized, plug-and-play solution that is not only quick to deploy and easy to manage, but also flexible enough to power incredible experiences across a broad range of use cases.”

The Chromebox Micro includes the ChromeOS Kiosk and Digital Signage Upgrade for remote management of devices, as well as zero-touch enrollment for faster deployment of pre-provisioned devices. Additionally, Lenovo has partnered with Instorescreen to make available 15.6” and 21.5” inFLEX displays are specifically designed for the new Chromebox Micro.

The Lenovo Chromebox Micro will be available in select markets beginning early 2024 starting at $219.
