Following a recent trend of TV manufacturers, LG has announced the release of its own camera for use with its 2022-2023 OLED and LCD TVs. Running at 1080p FHD and featuring built-in microphones, the LG Smart Cam is compatible only with TVs running webOS 22 or webOS 23. Positioned for video calling, workout routines, and games, the LG Smart Cam can take advantage of webOS’ multi-view feature for multitasking. So far, LG has announced compatibility with the webOS RemoteMeeting app for video calls, as well as fitness apps Exercite and FlexIt.
“LG Electronics (LG) announces the global rollout of its new Smart Cam,” LG says in their announcement. “The pairing offers convenient video calling and conferencing, an elevated home fitness experience and much more to cater to the diverse needs of customers as they enjoy various services offered by LG Smart TVs.”
The LG Smart Cam ships with a privacy cover, and is available for $99.99.
