This retro-inspired video player looks like a 1-inch TV

A miniature player that harkens back to a simpler time

@verge Would you watch your shows on a one-inch screen? The TinyTV 2 makes it fun by nailing the illusion of watching a live TV broadcast. Whenever you change the “channel” with its working dials or tiny remote, it’ll realistically flick to the middle of your next video, just as if you were watching it on an old-fashioned aerial. 8GB storage, 2-hour battery, $60, from TinyCircuits, the same company behind the Game-Boy-for-ants Thumby and Thumby Color. #todayimtoyingwith #toys #gadgets #tiny #tech #techtok ♬ original sound – The Verge

TinyCircuits, a company whose aim is to design creative gadgets that spark joy, has released their latest pint-sized offering: the TinyTV 2. Crowdfunded from a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2022, the TinyTV 2 has just debuted with a vintage look that harkens back to the old tube TVs of the ’60s. Users can change “channels” on the 1-inch display via the remote, or turning the miniature tactile knobs on the TV. These channels are actually pre-saved videos that users can upload via USB-C. Charging of the TinyTV 2’s 2-hour battery is also handled via USB-C. The video above shows a hands-on experience with the TinyTV 2, courtesy of TheVerge.
