Designed as an affordable solution for corporate and on-the-go professionals, as well as educators, the projector offers USB plug-and-play technology that displays images and audio on both a computer and projector screen by connecting a USB cable. The PowerLight 1716 also offers optional wireless add-ons for quick control and connectivity.

"This projector delivers the ultimate combination of ease-of-use, brightness, vivid color, robust features, and portability for conference rooms, classrooms, or on-the-road, while still offering an affordable price point in order to meet today's bottom lines," said Heather Gareis, senior product manager for Epson America, in a statement.

Other features include Epson 3LCD technology, E-TORL lamp technology, Instant On/Off power up and down, and the ability to project a 60-inch image from approximately 4 feet.

Options offered include open wireless networking with an EasyMP wireless module that delivers monitoring and control, virtual remote control, closed captioning, and presentation via IP network; and a Quick-Connect Wireless USB Key for plug-and-play wireless presentations.

The Epson PowerLite 1716 is scheduled to be available in October. Epson launched a variety of new products at InfoComm 09.
