Sanyo North America Corp. announced a pair of short-focus projectors that use the Frame Sequential Display Format to display 3D content when viewed through active-shutter glasses. The PDG-DWL2500 ($1,995) is 2,500-lumen WXGA resolution projector that can create an 80-inch image from a distance of 12.6 inches from the screen. The PDG-DXL2000 ($1,795) is a 2,000-lumen XGA resolution projector can produce an 80-inch image from 15.1 inches away. Each uses a new compact one-chip DLP optical engine, which contributes to a small-footprint, 14.3-pound design.
