Industry-leading oil and gas industry visualization benefits from 3D projection
Aker Solutions’ iPort in Stavanger, Norway, is an integrated operations centre for the offshore industry. It offers 3D simulators and other visualisation technology for drilling, topside, subsea and down-hole operations, with five main areas offering different simulator setups – each one using projectors from Norway’s projectiondesign.

We then use these ‘virtual versions’ of real installations for testing, design and staff training purposes, to optimise operational processes and procedures, and to fine-tune equipment performance and drilling sequences.”

The result of years of detailed programming by Aker Solutions’ software development teams in Norway, Russia and Ukraine, the simulators used at iPort offer a unique approach that satisfies the needs of a wide range of clients. The iPort centre continues to be upgraded and is one of several such centres operated by Aker Solutions globally, all of which use projectiondesign.
