BenQ Leads the Market as No. 1-Selling DLP Projector Brand in North America

Award-Winning Innovations Move Company Atop Projector Industry Rankings

COSTA MESA, Calif. — June 9, 2014 —

BenQ America Corp.

, an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions, today announced that the company has become the No. 1-selling DLP(R) (Digital Light Processing) projector brand in North America(1) according to the latest Quarterly Projector Shipment and Forecast Report from PMA Research. Emerging as 2013’s fastest-growing display brand(2), BenQ continues to gain market share with unique products that include the top-selling W1070(3), the world’s first sub-$1K Full HD 1080p projector featuring

Colorific(TM)

brightness for accurate, crisp, and long-lasting image quality.

The Q1 2014 PMA Research report revealed that BenQ has taken the top-selling spot for DLP projector sales both worldwide and now specifically in North America with a year-over-year growth rate of 20 percent, ahead of the pack with 11.9 percent of total unit sales among all DLP vendors. The company’s W1070 was the top-selling home entertainment projector in the U.S. retail channel in 2013, while the latest Colorific projectors have allowed BenQ to rank as the No. 3 overall projector brand in North America. On a global basis, BenQ has sustained its No. 2 standing as overall projector brand. According to PMA Research, DLP has been the projector market’s leading technology over the past four years.

“PMA’s latest report solidifies BenQ’s leadership position as a value-added provider of customer-centric digital lifestyle innovations,” said Bob Wudeck, Associate Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at BenQ America Corp. “Our outstanding customer base has truly responded to BenQ’s unique combination of dependable performance, industry-first features, and consumer-friendly pricing. We are extremely pleased with the impact our customers have had with our projector portfolio and look forward to even greater collaborations throughout the rest of the year.”

BenQ is gearing up for significant introductions across both its projector and monitor lineups with a first showcase at the largest annual conference and exhibition for audio/video buyers and sellers worldwide — InfoComm 2014, taking place from June 18-20 in Las Vegas, Nevada. For the professional systems integration channel, BenQ will unveil the high-brightness PU9730 and TH963 projectors, which feature a respective 7,000 and 6,000 Colorific lumens of brightness plus a variety of enhanced performance and ease of installation features for today’s command and control centers, houses of worship, classrooms, and boardrooms. Perfect for classroom collaboration, BenQ’s ultra-short throw MW853UST projector featuring pen and finger-touch interactivity will also debut during the event. Powered by Colorific technology, BenQ’s newest projectors are equipped with the company’s energy-saving SmartEco(TM) technology. Lowering total cost of ownership (TCO), the advancements extend lamp life across the company’s entire projector lines — resulting in up to 10,000 hours of lamp life without any compromise in projection quality.

Other new BenQ initiatives include the introduction of the company’s first 4K Ultra HD products: the BL3201PT professional monitor, the first-ever 4K Ultra HD CAD/CAM display, and the RP840G, BenQ’s inaugural 4K Ultra HD interactive flat panel with six-touch points across 84 inches. Additional digital signage introductions include the 70-inch RP700+ interactive flat-panel display with tablet-like navigation that’s perfect for wayfinding applications, the 55-inch, slim, dual-sided DL550F transparent display suited for retail applications, and the BH Series of public information bar displays in either 28-inch (BH280) or 38-inch (BH380) formats for public transit, restaurant menu boards, and many other digital signage applications.

Attendees can see BenQ’s latest innovations at booth C8531 at InfoComm 2014. More information is available at
