Integration Firm Sonimec Employs Bose Components  for Multiple Boralex Offices in Quebec and France

Boralex’s new Montreal offices and headquarters in Kingsey Falls are among the first Bose ControlSpace EX installations in Canada

Framingham, MA – Renewable energy leader Boralex recently contracted integration firm Sonimec (a division of Drummond Musique) of Drummondville, Quebec, to design and install multiple conference rooms for Boralex’s new offices in Montreal (24 floor of Manulife Tower/“Maison Manuvie”), and a similar solution will soon be spearheaded at the corporate headquarters in Kingsey Falls, Quebec.

The solution involved a ControlSpace EX audio conferencing system, along with Bose EdgeMax in-ceiling premium loudspeakers and PowerShare configurable amplifiers, all from Bose Professional. These are among the first installations of ControlSpace EX systems in Canada. The Montreal installation was such a success that a similar solution was also undertaken at the Boralex location in Lille, France.

According to Daniel Bolduc, head of installed sound for Sonimec, “We chose ControlSpace EX because of our long-term relationship with Bose and its ease of integration with Dante™ microphones. We were also very impressed with EdgeMax and PowerShare and the opportunity to delight our customer with an all-Bose audio solution. The system sounds great, as expected, and was very easy to install, especially using the Bose ControlSpace Conference Room Router, which saved a great deal of time during design as well as troubleshooting. The VoIP GUI also made it very easy to setup VoIP with the customer’s Avaya phone system. Moving forward, we have standardized the setup of the ControlSpace EX-1280C, EdgeMax loudspeakers and PowerShare amplifiers for all our future large conference room solutions.”

Mario Lessard, Team Lead for IT infrastructure at Boralex, remarks, “We are pleased with our choice of technology for this project. It provides a professional level of performance that is also affordable and very flexible. We can make conference calls or video conferences, and we can use the same equipment for an after-work reception with visual presentations. This flexibility will allow us to save on travel. With the scale of the international reach that Bose has, it allows us to standardize equipment in our offices abroad, and therefore our people will feel like they are at the head office wherever they are in the world.”
