Clear-Com Updates FreeSpeak II Wireless Intercom

A firmware update is available for FreeSpeak II wireless intercoms, providing new functionality including text messaging, a cleaner user interface, and improved diagnostics and audio enhancements for 2.4 GHz systems when used in complex radio environments.

The new firmware, available to all existing FreeSpeak II users, updates 2.4GHz systems, the FSII-BASE-II base station and its CCM management software to provide a better user experience for both audio performance and ease of use for all users.

“FreeSpeak II has become the wireless intercom of choice for so many production teams due to its game-changing audio performance and out-of-the-box ease of use based on familiar workflows,” said Simon Browne, vice president of product management at Clear-Com. “We’re excited to take FreeSpeak II to the next level of performance and to add features that will delight our existing and new customers. We are releasing these features for 2.4 GHz systems initially, and 1.9 GHz systems will be updated soon after.”

The new management software includes new tools for technical administrators to track beltpack roaming between cellular transceivers and quality of service over time, thus helping to tune the system for best operation.

The new software release is available from Clear-Com’s website: www.clearcom.com/support/freespeak-ii.
