GEPCO‘S NEW SMPTE FIELD AND STUDIO BOXES ADDED TO FIBER OFFERING AT NAB 2010

Gepco’s SMPTE Field and Studio Boxes

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, APRIL 12, 2010

Gepco International

(NAB Booth C5643) is pleased to offer its new line of

SMPTE Field and Studio Boxes

to complement its full line of fiber system solutions, including cabling and connectors.

GepcoA® Brand SMPTE Field and Studio Boxes are available in 1-, 2- or 3-channel configurations and feature configurable cord grips and cable management solutions. The end user has the ability to distribute each hybrid connector over fiber and copper, SMPTE 311M or 3-channel hybrid cables. Field-installed cables can be terminated by polishing, using a field term gel, or fusion splicing SC connectors.

Gepco Field Boxes

, specifically designed for SMPTE 304M interconnects, are constructed of weather-proof stainless steel, while the studio boxes are available in indoor-rated steel. All boxes include a hinged top panel with clamps, as well as an internal SC breakout or fusion splice tray.

The SMPTE Field Boxes offer a permanent installation solution for venues where a camera connection may be needed. Their rugged design allows for installation in less-than-optimal locations, and while providing the extra protection needed, they also provide for easy access if service is required. All internal components are available for field service when replacement is necessary due to heavy usage or contact damage.

Wherever a hybrid fiber breakout is needed,

Gepco’s Studio Boxes

provide a quick, temporary solution. The boxes provide a robust design to protect the connectors from damage that may occur in high-traffic locations. The box is made from the same materials as Gepco’s standard audio breakout boxes, which is a benchmarked product in the broadcast industry for reliability and dependability in hazardous locations.
