Company Quote:

“Today’s A/V integrators require cost-effective solutions that leverage multiple platform delivery and Internet streaming technologies to deliver unified, multi-dimensional communications systems for their customers,” said Peter Maag, executive vice president, Haivision Network Video. “We’re looking forward to showing ISE 2012 attendees how Haivision’s advanced video encoding, transcoding, and digital signage solutions can help deliver end-to-end, enterprise communications across all media delivery platforms and networks.”

Haivision Products on Display at ISE 2012:

CoolSign(TM)

Haivision’s CoolSign(TM) digital signage solution boasts all the features and functions required to meet any signage need, from smaller installations to sophisticated multiscreen landmark displays to large-scale global networks. CoolSign’s pioneering digital signage technology includes n-tier architecture, native multicasting support, real-time connectivity, full-edge device monitoring and control, flexible media scheduling, a closed data architecture, bandwidth usage controls, and many others. Secure, scalable, reliable, and efficient, CoolSign technology serves the demands of myriad retail, government, financial services, corporate, and pure-play digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH) networks around the globe.

Makito(TM) Encoder

The Makito(TM) encoder is the first and only full-featured, high-performance compact encoder to combine the efficiencies of H.264 video compression and full HD video quality in a very small form factor — all at a very competitive price point. And now, the Makito supports constant bit rate (CBR) encoding to assure transport and system-wide compatibilities and, optionally, real-time metadata capabilities. The Makito provides H.264 encoding at up to 1080p60 with the lowest available end-to-end latencies.

KulaByte(TM) Encoder

Haivision will display its newly acquired KulaByte(TM) software encoder, which allows Kulabyte users to deliver live content to multiple sites easily and reliably. Kulabyte features best-in-class adaptive player technology that enables dynamic, real-time updates for dependable online video delivery to desktop or mobile devices. Completely software-based, the KulaByte encoder provides the most efficient use of uplink bandwidth due to extremely high quality-to-bit rate performance and tight bit rate control. With its simple user interface and operation, anyone from trained employees to volunteer teams can reliably deliver the desired results time after time.

KulaByte(TM) Live Cloud Transcoder

Haivision will also show off its KulaByte(TM) live cloud transcoding solution, capable of transforming live video source streams into all of the many formats and data rates required to distribute live video via the Internet. The KulaByte live cloud transcoder delivers live transcoded source video streams to every screen, regardless of device, player, screen size, or bandwidth. The transcoder provides high-quality, reliable, consistent output streams to the full range of playback devices, even when streaming from challenging low-bandwidth environments. Preparing the multiple renditions needed for all of these devices and bit rates previously required additional investment in on-site encoding hardware, bandwidth, and infrastructure. KulaByte eliminates this wasteful per-event overspending and complexity in favor of a flexible, comprehensive cloud-based live streaming platform.

Furnace(TM) 6.0 Including MultiStream(TM) Recording and Advanced Publishing

The highly acclaimed Furnace(TM) IP video system includes advanced recording and publishing features to enable clients to capture and distribute synchronized multistream video content. The VF Recorder module now supports recording and review of up to four simultaneous video streams associated with a combined video asset. During the recording, HotMarks(TM) (real-time metadata) can be applied to all streams either through the user interface or as triggered by third-party control systems. HotMarks enable viewers to search for and jump to specific tagged events quickly. The VF Publisher module establishes automated ingest and publishing of content. After a record process, users can instantly assign content to specific groups, make the content available within the Web portal, email links to specific users or groups, or deposit the content into third-party systems for further editing.

Viper MultiStream(TM) IP Video Streamer/Recorder

Haivision will also feature the Viper, a compact integrated appliance for capturing, streaming, reviewing, distributing, and publishing multistream H.264 content. The Viper can be used as a stand-alone device to bring powerful recording, streaming, and VoD capabilities directly from event centers by capturing and distributing multiple HD video sources or HD video and computer display sources simultaneously. The Viper supports record/review/publish and live-streaming applications. The Viper can also be integrated as a remote contributor to Haivision’s Furnace(TM) IP video system, enabling a distributed recording architecture without relying on central network video recording capacity to accommodate every user.

Torpedo(TM) DVB-to-IP Gateways

Torpedo(TM) allows enterprises to get digital broadcast transmission onto their IP networks without the need for re-encoding the video. Digital satellite (DVB-S/S2) and digital terrestrial (DVB-T/T2) broadcasts contain audio/video programming using industry-standard compression (MPEG-2 or H.264) contained within MPEG-2 transport streams. The Torpedo gateway tunes to particular channels, as delivered over RF by the DVB antennas or satellite dishes, extracts and filters the MPEG transport stream packets, and delivers the program content over IP networks, thereby eliminating the need to re-encode. A single Torpedo can support up to 15 content channels, each rebroadcast as unicast or multicast IP video data streams. Torpedo can be used as a stand-alone solution, or it can be integrated as part of Haivision’s Furnace(TM) IP video system.
