Harris Digital Out-Of-Home Brings New Visual and Business Management Innovations to Digital Signage Expo

DENVER, February 20, 2013

Harris Digital Out-Of-Home

comes to this year’s Digital Signage Expo (February 27-28, Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 907) with new innovations to amplify consumer engagement and extend business management reach. The company will demonstrate dynamic video and graphical content generated through its latest

release. Additionally, new

s extend business management beyond single-channel capability.

The new updates, which include creative enhancements for videowall displays and interactive engagement, illustrate the company’s commitment to innovation for the digital signage industry across many verticals, including

retail, hospitality, sports and live entertainment

.

“Harris Digital Out-Of-Home continues to develop its portfolio, with new features to improve the visual experience for consumers and evolve the business model for out-of-home networks,” said Denise MacDonell, director and general manager, Harris Digital Out-Of-Home. “The Digital Signage Expo remains the industry’s greatest event to build relationships and demonstrate innovations. We intend to do this and more.”

MacDonell adds that the company will offer two presentations in workshop sessions over the course of the show. Information on the Harris Digital Out-Of-Home presentations is available at

Visual Enhancements

InfoCaster is among the preeminent digital signage solutions, with a full suite of hardware and software products to create, schedule, distribute and play out content – including HD-quality video and immaculate graphics.

The latest release incorporates HTML5 and Flash support for dynamic web content, including specific screen regions and full-screen presentations. This enables more sophisticated content management at the network level, as well as rich interactive experiences from wayfinding to retail purchases for consumers. The latter, made possible through InfoCaster software, makes touchscreen-powered shopping part of the complete in-store media experience for retailers and other businesses.

“This is especially useful in building an omni-channel strategy that brings the in-store and on-screen experience together for retail customers, and ensures that all channels of communication to the consumer are consistent,” said MacDonell.

InfoCaster has been traditionally strong for videowall presentations, perfectly synchronizing content together as one seamless canvas. The InfoCaster process removes videowall processors and other components from the mix, without limiting the number of supported displays in large videowall configurations.

At Digital Signage Expo, the company will introduce support for perfectly synchronized real-time data feeds, such as news, weather and stock information. The crawls will similarly stretch across videowalls as part of a large canvas, perfectly in sync to ensure all data on display is accurate and up to date. Harris Digital Out-Of-Home will also demonstrate support for non-grid videowalls to enable various screen orientations.

“A traditional videowall limitation has been the assumption that all monitors must be in the portrait or landscape orientation to produce engaging content,” said MacDonell. “InfoCaster allows our customers to create far more interesting videowall layouts based on its ability to synchronize content across different display shapes and sizes.”

Business Management

Punctuate manages the scheduling and placement of advertising and promotional content for out-of-home networks, bringing together automatic content placement and accurate business management. New management tools allow Punctuate users to manage more than one channel or network from the same interface. This enables two or more operators to see different aspects of a network while sharing common components and information.

“One example is a network operator managing an audio network and a video network for the same business,” said MacDonell. “They might have the same advertisers and the same playout locations, but different content. Punctuate simplifies matters by sharing the same IT infrastructure and other components to streamline overall business management.”
