Milan Workgroup to Host Momentum Update Events, Education and Product Demonstrations at InfoComm 2019

Orlando, FL – InfoComm 2019 – Members of the Milan workgroup within the Avnu Alliance announce two public events to share news and momentum from Milan’s inception at InfoComm 2018 through 2019, including technical updates for the protocol as well as ecosystem and product announcements from the group.

There will be two events with presentations followed by a happy hour for networking: Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 5:00 – 6:30 PM hosted by Adamson Systems Engineering in Demo Room #W230C, and Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 5:00 – 6:30 PM hosted by Meyer Sound in Demo Room #W240. Milan co-creator Luminex will also host a Milan interoperability product demo in their booth, #6967 throughout the show.

Interested parties may register via this Eventbrite link or by emailing [email protected].

Milan members will also present an AVIXA InfoComm Seminar course offering 1.5 CTS RU credits, on Friday, June 14 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Attendees will learn more about the challenges commonly associated with AV networking and how the Milan protocol can be used as a solution to guarantee interoperability at the network and application layer, as well as how integrators, AV and IT managers and other end-users can implement Milan into their AV networks for reliable, deterministic and future-proof media networking. Attendees may register via the InfoComm website.

First launched at InfoComm 2018, Milan is a standards-based, user-driven deterministic network protocol for professional media, that assures devices will work together at new levels of convenience, reliability and functionality. Created and maintained by Pro Audio market leaders in the Avnu Alliance, Milan is the first tangible solution for promising deterministic, reliable, and future-proof delivery of networked media. Milan combines the technical benefits of the AVB standard with Pro AV market-defined device requirements at both the network and the application layer for media streams, formats, clocking and redundancy.

Manufacturers interested in exploring Milan network implementation should visit www.avnu.org/Milan or get in touch with [email protected] or join the Milan Forum. Milan specification documents are final and available now at http://avnu.org/specifications/.

About Milan

Thoughtfully designed and developed, Milan is a user-driven protocol built on top of IEEE Audio Video Bridging (AVB) open standards with added specification requirements for professional media to ensure that all Milan devices will work together on a Pro AV network. Milan is the Pro AV market-defined protocol and toolkit that provides manufacturers a specific set of rules and directives for products to be built with requirements for the network layer and the application layer including media streams, formats, clocking and redundancy, and thus once tested and certified, form a fully interoperable ecosystem for deterministic networking in the Pro AV market.

About Avnu Alliance

Avnu Alliance is a community creating an interoperable ecosystem of low-latency, time-synchronized, highly reliable networked devices using open standards. Avnu creates comprehensive certification programs to ensure interoperability of networked devices. The foundational technology enables deterministic synchronized networking based on IEEE Audio Video Bridging (AVB) / Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) base standards. The Alliance, in conjunction with other complementary standards bodies and alliances, provides a united network foundation for use in professional AV, automotive, industrial control and consumer segments.
