Early in the year, the brand’s GY-HC500 CONNECTED CAM™ NDI®|HX-compatible Handheld Broadcast Cameras received a 2023 Innovative Product Award from Sound & Video Contractor and were also chosen by TV Technology for a Best of Show Award at NAB 2023. Additionally, the company’s new KM-IP8 CONNECTED CAM vMix Studio Switcher won a 2023 Installation Product Award from Systems Contractor News, which was presented during InfoComm. Most recently, the brand’s KM-IP8S4 CONNECTED CAM vMix Studio Switcher won a Sound & Video Contractor Best of Show Award at InfoComm 2023.

Designed in direct response to systems integrator requests, the NDI®|HX-compatible GY-HC500 Series broadcast cameras ensure that broadcast studios, schools, churches and other facilities can seamlessly incorporate the cameras within their existing IP infrastructure, reducing integration costs and complications. The cameras feature optimized image processing and IP performance for live video with tally and IP remote control capability, while built-in streaming and connectivity options provide advanced low-latency video for livestreaming to popular platforms like YouTube and Facebook. Additionally, the cameras can record to SSD, 4K UHD and HD file formats, and feature a one-inch 4K CMOS imager; LCOS viewfinder; dual XLR inputs; high-resolution LCD menu screen; integrated 20x zoom lens with built-in ND filters and manual zoom, focus and iris control rings. From now until September 30, 2023, customers will receive a $300 rebate on all JVC GY-HC500 Series cameras.
A recipient of the Sound & Video Contractor 2023 Innovative Product Award, the cameras were chosen by a public vote of the outlet’s readership for being among the top electronic or mechanical innovations. The cameras were also recognized as a TVTech NAB 2023 Best of Show recipient. Evaluated by industry writers and professionals, the award is presented to solutions that are leading in innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry.
The KM-IP8 and KM-IP8S4 CONNECTED CAM vMix Studio Switchers can each manage a minimum of eight NDI®|HX inputs at 1080 60P using vMix 4K licensed software for Windows 11 Pro. The KM-IP8S4 also features four 3G-SDI inputs with bi-directional connectors and mini-SDI-to-SDI cables. Both devices offer several output options, including one 3G-SDI, one HDMI and four DisplayPorts; as well as a Gigabit Ethernet network port. Additionally, the KM-IP8 and KM-IP8S4 are optimized for switching live programming in SD up to full HD 1080 60P.
Both solutions were presented with awards during InfoComm 2023, with the KM-IP8 securing an Installation Product Award from Systems Contractor News. The switcher earned its spot in the “Most Innovative Streaming Product” category of the awards, which shine a spotlight on innovation in the Pro AV industry. Additionally, the KM-IP8S4 took home a Sound & Video Contractor InfoComm 2023 Best of Show Award, which honors outstanding products exhibited at the show. Chosen by a panel of judges and editors who reviewed nominations ahead of the show, the switcher won based on a point score against a range of criteria that included innovation, features and usability.
