LG Demos Robot Assistants and New TVs at The Hospitality Show

Attendees visiting LG Business Solutions USA at the 2023 AHLA Hospitality Show in Booth #1224 can experience new technologies developed for the hotel of the future, including the LG CLOi ServeBot, the world’s first UL3300-certified autonomous commercial service robot, the LG CLOi GuideBot and two new LG Smart Hotel TVs with Pro:Centric Direct for simple control and customization. The show is taking place at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas from June 27-29.

Chris Barton, national account manager for hospitality at LG Business Solutions USA, noted that among all the facets of a hotel’s operations, technology has a unique ability to simultaneously improve guest experiences and customer service while simplifying workloads.

“LG’s autonomous robots offer hotels a chance to introduce a fun, novel guest experience that also provides meaningful assistance including food and beverage delivery, providing directions to hotel areas or external attractions, offering recommendations or even physically leading them to their room,” Barton said. “These functions can delight guests while freeing up front desk and other hotel staff to focus on other duties and ensure positive guest experiences. The guest journey extends into the room, where LG Smart Hotel TVs can provide advanced opportunities for customized hotel programming and allow simpler updates and changes through centralized remote management.”

LG CLOi ServeBot is a server’s best friend, helping restaurant staff by carrying up to 66 pounds of food, beverages and dishes and autonomously navigating to tables or the kitchen to enable rapid, consistent deliveries. Customer interactions are offered through the included 10.1-inch, 1200×800 full-color touchscreen, which can display menus, specials, videos, “last call” messages or a friendly digital robot face.

The LG CLOi ServeBot has adjustable shelves that can be raised, lowered or removed, and a tray on the unit’s top provides convenient menu storage and the lowest shelf can house a drawer for utensils, condiments and more. ServeBot can also be programmed to guide patrons from the host or lobby area to their table, allowing employees to stay at their station and help additional customers. The CLOi ServeBot operates up to 11 hours on a single charge, and when power is low, it can automatically return to the optional charging stand, which provides a full charge in just 3.5 hours.

In lobbies and other public areas, the friendly-looking LG CLOi GuideBot reduces staff workloads by greeting guests with a friendly 9.2-inch LG LCD “face” display and providing maps, menus, suggestions, interactive content and more via dual 27-inch LG touch screens on the front and rear of the robot’s ‘body’. Using a high-quality microphone, 3D camera and 18 sensors, the robot can navigate busy spaces and react to approaching users with visual and auditory effects.

LG CLOi GuideBot offers nine hours of operation, a quick five-hour charging time, a top speed of 2.2 miles per hour and the ability to automatically alter routes in response to changes in foot traffic. It also collects data on interaction time, advertisement playback time, number of uses and more, with all data available for real-time review.

For in-room hotel televisions, LG is showcasing two new models—the premium, ultra-slim LED Pro:Centric Smart UM777H series TV and the UN560H series Pro:Centric Enhanced UHD TV.

The new Pro:Centric Smart UM777H series TV presents a more attractive and upscale appearance for guestrooms, thanks to its slim, 1.2-inch depth and frameless design. Available in 50-, 55-, 65- and 75-inch screen sizes, the UM777H series is LG’s top-tier, edge-lit LED hotel UHD TV. With the Pro:Centric Smart IPTV platform, this model supports LG system integrator partners’ interactive entertainment solutions, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for content streaming and embedded streaming apps, including Netflix. It also supports LG’s webOS 23 and has the latest generation system on a chip (SoC) for improved performance.

Booth visitors can also see the UN560H series Pro:Centric Enhanced UHD TV, which supports LG’s Pro:Centric Direct, a hotel content management and infotainment solution. Offering simple editing tools, Pro:Centric Direct makes it easy for hoteliers to remotely manage TVs and edit their interfaces using provided custom interfaces. The 4K UHD UN560H series is available in 43-, 50-, 55- and 65-inch screen sizes and delivers life-like picture quality and vivid colors.

Both series support LG’s embedded Pro:Idiom© digital rights management solution, ensuring secure access to premium channels and movie content. LG smart hotel TVs are the first commercial television sets that will support Apple AirPlay when it launches in select hotels later this year.
