Margarita Mix’s Jimmy Hite Receives Sound Mixing Award for Nissan Leaf Spot

Jimmy Hite, Chief Sound Engineer for Margarita Mix, won the Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) Award for Outstanding Sound in a Commercial for the Nissan Leaf spot, “Gas Powered Everything.” Hite’s work on the commercial included a 5.1 surround sound mix. He was also recognized earlier this year with a Bronze Telly Award for the same spot.

“TBWA\Chiat\Day requested our high-quality sound mixing services, understanding the effect that 5.1 surround sound brings to enhancing the final mix,” says Senior Producer Whitney Warren of Margarita Mix. “And Jimmy has the right combo of expertise and skill to create just the right balance of the various elements for a compelling brand experience. We are proud of our experienced, award-winning talent roster and the creative environment they bring forth for our clients.”

Hite has over 30 years of experience in sound mixing for the commercial and advertising industries, and has won numerous awards throughout his career. Since joining Margarita Mix/LA Studios, Hite has provided sound mixing and recording services to a multitude of advertising clients, including Nissan, Activision, Disney, AT&T, Kaiser Permanent, and UPS, among others. He works alongside accomplished mixers and sound designers at Margarita Mix, such as Nathan Dubin, Jeff Levy, and Paul Hurtubise, rounding out a robust service offering at the studio.

Honoring innovation and artistry in post production, the HPA Awards were presented November 1 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The spot can viewed here:
