CAMBRIDGE, ON, Canada, September 23, 2013
– Bannister Lake Software Inc., the Canadian supplier of Broadcast Graphics Automation systems, has announced the appointment of Pete Challinger as Vice President, U.S. Business Development. The appointment is part of a goal to dramatically increase U.S. business for the company.
Challinger’s career, based in California, spans 30 years with some of the best-known names in the broadcast industry. With executive roles at Grass Valley Group and Abekas Video Systems, he was involved in new product and market development. After Abekas, he became the founding VP Marketing at Spruce Technologies, a startup that pioneered DVD Authoring in the early days of DVD. In 1999, he returned to his own consulting and distribution business, launching Quartz Electronics (later acquired by Evertz) in the U.S. For the last six years, he was CEO of Pixel Power Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the UK graphics company.
“I am delighted to be working with Bannister Lake,” said Challinger. “I think there are great opportunities to replicate the success that BL has had with major broadcasters and sports operations in Canada across the U.S. market. Having spoken with some of their customers, it is clear that their level of support and customer service is exemplary.”
In addition to Challinger’s appointment, Bannister Lake also announces the expansion of its global operations with the opening of a new U.S. office, based in California. Challinger will operate out of the new office.
Georg Hentsch, President of Bannister Lake Software, commented, “We’ve been selling solutions throughout the United States and supporting our American customers for years, but our new U.S. office marks a significant corporate Bannister Lake milestone worth acknowledging.”
