Planar, a global leader in visualization technology, announced the company has filed suit against Neoti to address false and misleading statements regarding the origin and Trade Agreements Act (TAA) status of certain Planar products.
According to the suit, Neoti published a purported “TAA Compliant LED Video Wall Buyer’s Guide” that falsely designates Planar as “Not Compliant” with the Trade Agreements Act (“TAA”), falsely characterizing Planar’s manufacturing of TAA products as originating in China.
In the suit, Planar states that the statements at issue are inaccurate and unfairly mischaracterize both Planar’s manufacturing operations and its TAA-compliant product offerings. Planar maintains significant and advanced manufacturing operations in Slovakia as well as sourcing products from other TAA-designated countries for qualifying product lines.
In 2018, Planar announced a significant investment in a state-of-the-art production facility in Prešov, Slovakia, a TAA-designated country, expanding the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities with multiple and substantial automated SMD lines and enabling the production of many Planar TAA-complaint display solutions. Planar also obtains additional TAA-compliant display products from manufacturing partners in Taiwan, also a TAA-designated country. Together, these manufacturing resources reflect Planar’s long-term commitment to TAA compliance while providing customers with a trusted supply chain and a broad portfolio of display solutions that meet TAA requirements.
