Platinum Tools Features Latest Solutions at 2026 CEDIA Expo

The PT-OTDR-100 Mini OTDR Tester, HPH J-Hooks, ezEX-RJ45 Termination Systems, PoE Tester, & PTS PRO Crimp Tool Will Be Showcased During the Show

Huntersville, N.C., July 27, 2026 – Platinum Tools® is proud to announce it will showcase a number of its new and popular solutions during CEDIA Expo 2026, held in Denver from Sept. 2-4 at the Colorado Convention Center, booth #1123. The PT-OTDR-100 mini OTDR tester, HPH J-Hooks, ezEX-RJ45 termination systems, PoE Tester, and PTS PRO Crimp Tool will be on-hand for attendees during the show.

“From cabling hooks to advanced testers and everything in between, Platinum Tools has what the discerning installer needs for a variety of projects across multiple markets,” said Sean Rothermel, Platinum Tools product manager. “InfoComm is the ideal event to showcase these solutions as our products are useful and necessary for each and every project.”

Platinum Tools PT-OTDR-100 mini OTDR tester

The PT-OTDR-100 mini OTDR tester provides a simple to set up and easy-to-use solution for OTDR testing. The PT-OTDR-100 includes a 5.5 inch OLED touch screen for easy viewing of cable tests and can save and export your OTDR tests. This unit will perform OTDR tests, OPM, VFL, and laser source functionality for fiber optic cable, and will also perform continuity testing and TDR for Category cable.

The high performance HPH J-Hooks (available in white, red, blue, and black variations) have been designed to support today’s modern high performance network cable installations, such as pro AV, data centers, commercial structures, manufacturing facilities, and residential applications. HPH J-Hooks are built with steel J-Hooks over-molded with Plenum-rated polypropylene for an easy cable slide. The ‘Snap-Lock’ retainer is easy-to-use and reuse, firmly securing cables every time and eliminating the use of cable and velcro ties. They feature a smooth, radiused 2-inch wide base with no pressure points, and are UL listed, Plenum-rated, RoHS and TIA compliant.

The ezEX-RJ45® connectors are designed for larger cables and conductors, featuring a unique integrated Hi-Lo stagger load bar and allows ‘big’ conductors to pass through the front end of the connector, making it easy to verify the wiring sequence before terminating. These connectors are typically used with either CAT6 CAT6A and are terminated with EXO Crimp Frame® and EXO-EX Die™ (100061C).

At just 2.5 inches square, the pocket-sized and easy-to-use TPS200C PoE++ tester has been designed for all varieties of PoE…up to 56 volts and 280 watts of power. Powered by the PoE circuit, the TPS200C requires no batteries and can be used inline with an actual PoE device to measure current flow, or by itself in Powered Device (PD) Simulation mode to determine the maximum power available from the PoE power source.

The PTS (Pass Through Standard) Pro Crimp Tool takes years of Platinum Tools innovations and combines multiple tools into one sleek design…a single tool for all Platinum Tools terminations. It allows for the termination of both ezEX-RJ45 connectors and the legacy EZ-RJ45 connectors in a single tool with no part changes, and utilizes a sliding plate to change between the different types of connectors and a captive thumb screw to make swapping between connector styles seamless. The tool features a connector locking mechanism so connectors “click” into the tool for termination, and also includes the cutting and stripping blades for Cat5e and 6 built directly into the handle.
