PlexusAV signs agreement with Merick

PlexusAV expands distribution into APAC by signing with Merik Distribution for Australia and New Zealand.

PlexusAV, the professional AV division of Sencore, providing a suite of human-focused AV-over-IP solutions, is delighted to announce that they have signed a distribution agreement with Merik Distribution https://www.merik.com.au/ to cover both Australia and New Zealand.

Steven Cogels, Global Director of Business Development at PlexusAV, confirmed, “We are super excited to launch our brand and products into the APAC region by signing with Merik. Merik prides itself on providing cutting-edge Pro-AV solutions to their customers, which fits perfectly with PlexusAV’s own strategy and philosophy.”

Mike Eastgate Co-Founder and General Manager at Merik confirmed, “We have long believed that having a true standard in IP-based systems, is essential for the whole Pro-AV industry.  Therefore, we have followed the emergence of both PlexusAV and IPMX with great interest.  PlexusAV stands out as the first company we have seen to introduce a fully comprehensive range of IPMX based hardware and software solutions.  We are beyond excited to represent PlexusAV in Australia and New Zealand to help bring this dream of standardisation into reality for the Pro-AV industry.”

Eric Steyn, Co-Founder and Head of Technology and Innovation at Merik added “The open standards and interoperability features that IPMX brings to the table will be groundbreaking for AV. Just as in networking, where one device can be swapped out for another regardless of the vendor, the adoption of IPMX will change how the whole industry views AV. I am especially excited about the ability of IPMX to handle both compressed and uncompressed signals, regardless of the format. The processing power of the hardware will inevitably be tested, and in an environment where all things are equal, the units with the best hardware and specifications will be the most effective in a system.

The use of NMOS in a system to monitor inputs, outputs, security, and more will redefine what monitoring looks like. Features like bandwidth monitoring and endpoint health checks, as seen in the PlexusAV Visual Array, already provide just a small glimpse into the future. Whilst we are merely at the beginning of what we can control and monitor on the network, software like this indicates what is to come, which in my opinion, will easily surpass the bespoke systems people currently rely on. The future looks bright.”
