Product developers and engineers working in the consumer electronics, automotive and broadcast industries now have the opportunity to tune in to a series of free webinars organised by Prism Sound, manufacturer of the acclaimed dScope Series III Audio Analyzer.
The Wednesday Webinar series kicks off on June 24th with Mobile Music, a webinar presented by Prism Sound’s Dan Foley on measuring the acoustic and electronic performance of portable music players.
This must-attend event asks the question:
Are your portable music player customers in danger of suffering hearing damage?
Attendees will learn how to make accurate, reliable and repeatable measurement of headphones, earphones and portable music player electronics. These measurements are vital in ensuring that customers are protected from excessive loudness but still enjoy high-quality sound.
Topics covered in the webinar will include:
• The present standards environment regarding human safety
• Fixtures for testing circumaural, supra-aural, and supra-concha headphones, ear buds (intra-concha) and insert earphones (intra-canal)
• Test techniques for headphones, ear buds and portable players.
The second Wednesday Webinar session on July 8th will focus on the Broadcast industry with Prism Sound’s Doug Ordon explaining test strategies for reliable, high-quality digital audio in HD Radio.
This webinar will ask the question:
Is your digital audio stream plagued by pops and glitches? Is your sound turning off your audience?
Attendees will learn how to build high quality, reliable digital audio distribution networks free from annoying pops, glitches and drop-outs.
Topics covered will include:
• The AES3 format
• How to understand the Eye pattern
• Reliability and connectivity issues for AES3 digital audio
• Test techniques for transmission reliability in bit-transparent and non-transparent signal chains
Prism Sound is running its Wednesday Webinar series on the second and last Wednesday of every month. Future topics will cover audio testing for the live sound environment, for microphones and amplifiers and for automotive products.
To ensure that engineers and product developers have ample opportunity to take part, Prism Sound will run two sessions on each topic – the first starting at 9am EDT and the second at 1pm EDT. Sessions will last for 20 minutes plus an additional 10 minutes for questions.
Although Wednesday Webinar sessions are free to attend, spaces are limited and those wishing to take part should register early. This can be done via the Prism Sound website at
