Revolabs and Biamp Systems to Present Joint AVB Demonstration at ISE 2014

Demo Will Prelude Upcoming Integration of Revolabs Executive Elite(TM) Microphones and the Biamp Tesira(R) DSP System Using AVB Connectivity

SUDBURY, Mass. and BEAVERTON, Ore. — Jan. 30, 2014 — At the upcoming ISE 2014 show in Amsterdam, Revolabs and Biamp Systems will join forces to present a technical demonstration of Audio Video Bridging (AVB) interoperability between Revolabs Executive Elite(TM) wireless microphone system and Biamp System’s Tesira(R) digital signal processor (DSP)-based media system. The demonstration, a preview of upcoming development work to integrate the two products, will take place on Revolabs’ stand 12-A92 at ISE 2014.

“After an in-depth evaluation of network technology, we have chosen to standardize our products on AVB because of its robustness, speed, and scalability,” said Tim Root, chief technology officer, Revolabs. “As the leader in the DSP space and a pioneer in AVB technology for scalable AV networks, Biamp is the ideal partner as we work together to bring AVB and its benefits to our joint customers.”

Both Revolabs and Biamp(R) are members of the AVnu Alliance, a consortium that advocates adoption of the IEEE 802.1 AVB standards designed to make Ethernet suitable for audio and video transport. At ISE 2014, Revolabs will demonstrate an AVB link between its breakthrough Executive Elite four- and eight-channel wireless microphone system and Biamp’s industry-leading Tesira scalable DSP media system. Engineering groups from Revolabs and Biamp will work together to develop a complete AVB solution integrating the two systems.

“At Biamp, our commitment to the AVB connectivity standard is evident throughout our product family, so it’s a pleasure to be working with Revolabs on this joint effort. We’re pleased to welcome another AVB manufacturer to the market,” said Graeme Harrison, executive vice president of marketing, Biamp Systems. “Revolabs’ new Executive Elite microphone system is a great example of a solution that uses AVB to its full potential. Once both of our companies achieve compliance with the AVnu Alliance’s interoperability standards, we see strong potential for working with the Executive Elite in the future.”
