Revolabs FLX(TM) Wireless Conference Phone Delivers Exceptional Audio Quality for Sametime(R) Users Through IBM Sametime Integration

SUDBURY, Mass. — Jan. 23, 2012 — Revolabs Inc. today announced that the company’s FLX(TM) wireless conference phone has been tested and verified to operate with IBM Sametime(R) software. Designed specifically for small and mid-sized conference rooms, executive offices, and SOHO environments, the Revolabs FLX now offers seamless integration with IBM Sametime to deliver exceptional audio quality for users.

IBM Sametime delivers unified, real-time communication and collaboration services — from enterprise instant messaging and online meetings to telephony and video conferencing. The software allows businesses to improve how work gets done while reducing travel and telephony expenses. Through the new integration with IBM Sametime, users simply plug the Revolabs FLX wireless conference phone into their computer for superior audio performance at the desktop or in the conference room. The Revolabs FLX works with IBM Sametime integrated telephony solutions, whether SUT, SUT Lite, TCSPI, or the built-in Sametime audio features.

Combining wireless operation, high-quality wideband audio, 128-bit encryption, integrated Bluetooth(R), support for analog and IP, and a low price point, the FLX redefines the traditional conference speakerphone. The FLX is available with a variety of compatible Revolabs microphones types, including a lapel microphone, worn by one person; an omnidirectional tabletop microphone that captures the sound of six to 10 participants; and a directional tabletop microphone that enables audio capture from two to three people.

Because the FLX dialer operates like a telephone for handset calls and enables the setup of conference calls, there is no need for a separate desk and conference phone. The Revolabs FLX can also serve as the audio interface with virtually any major brand of video conferencing equipment, providing the same high audio performance within video calls. Callers without Internet access can have their phone calls bridged into the video session at any time.

In a review of the FLX, Carl Tyler, director of Epillio, noted, “I connected the FLX to my PC and tried it with IBM Sametime. The audio quality was excellent, even clearer than the phone line. Another impressive FLX feature is the ability to merge audio streams. So, if you’re on a Sametime phone call using FLX for PC audio and the telephone rings, you can answer the phone, and the audio from both calls will be merged, allowing both callers to hear and chat with each other.”

In September 2011, Wainhouse Research (WR) conducted a third-party evaluation of the FLX. Ira M. Weinstein, senior analyst and partner at WR, said, “Throughout our testing, the Revolabs FLX performed well and provided a solid conference call experience even through the most aggressive echo cancellation and duplex tests. Not only is its audio call-quality as strong as wired speaker phones, but the use of a wireless speaker and microphones completely changes the entire conference call dynamic. The ability to move about the room without having to yell to be picked up by the speakerphone adds a new level of freedom to the meeting experience.”

The Revolabs FLX was recently honored with a 2011 Internet Telephony Product of the Year Award and is sold through major distributors, dealers, and resellers.
