NSCA AIDS THE NEXT GENERATION OF INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

As part of the NSCA Education Foundation’s mission to reach out to the next generation of integrators, eight students will receive the training they need to succeed in the commercial-electronic-systems industry.

Winners include Jess Ashby, Cody Dixon, Marc-Andrew Brooks, Erin Graham, Brad Groarke, Wesley Luce, Dawn Meade, and Ross Nordeen.

Scholarship winners were selected based on the presentation of their application, grade-point average, work experience, and the strength of their letters of recommendation.

In addition to the NSCA Scholarship, Ashby and Meade also received a $2,500 Robert Bosch scholarship, bringing their total award to $3,500 each.

UPDATED CERTIFICATION PROGRAM BUILDS BETTER INTEGRATORS

The best integrators employ the best technicians. You certainly want the most qualified companies and technicians installing your products. NSCA is here to ensure field professionals are trained and certified. Using the best practices of our industry, an outstanding group of certified subject-matter experts, and state-of-the-art test-development procedures, NSCA began a new revision cycle and process to update the exam. Incorporating up-to-the-minute technical information, the program also has a new name indicative of its updated status: EST-L2. Technicians who have earned the current C-EST certificate will automatically receive the new EST-L2+ designation; the “+” indicates passing the requirements of the hands-on portion of the exam. HOW DOES YOUR COMPANY’S FINANCIAL HEALTH COMPARE TO OTHERS?

In today’s competitive business environment, it is critical that you have accurate information on how your company compares to the industry overall on key financial aspects. For nearly a decade, NSCA has assisted members with this task by providing the Financial Analysis of the Industry report. This annual report benchmarks financial ratios among systems integration firms in the industry. To ensure the research results for this report are truly reflective of our industry, we need your participation in the “Cost of Doing Business” survey. The results from this survey are used to produce the Financial Analysis of the Industry. Among other comparisons, the analysis examines:

  • Primary technology focus
  • Primary vertical market
  • Bid versus negotiated sales
  • Company size and location.

The report provides insight into the financial health and operations of a wide variety of commercial-electronic-systems companies. In addition, it details trends from the previous nine years. If you would like to participate in the survey, go to www.nsca.org/costofdoingbusinesssurvey to download the survey form.
