Singer/Songwriter Georgia Train Joins Top Producers at Pro7ect 2017

This exciting creative retreat now has a stellar line up of talent to help new songwriters develop their skills and further their careers.

Pro7ect is delighted to announce that Georgia Train will bring her exceptional songwriting and vocal skills to this year’s retreat at the Hotel Pelirocco in Brighton.

Part of the production and writing team Xenomania, Train’s most recent credits include the title track of the Kaiser Chiefs’ 2016 album Stay Together, which she co-wrote with MNEK, Wayne Hector and Brian Higgins. She has also collaborated with artists such as Katie Melua and Prezidents.

Now in its fourth year, Pro7ect’s next retreat runs in Brighton from 12th – 17th March, 2017. Working in professionally equipped pop up studios, top producers Roni Size, Martin Glover (aka Youth), John Fortis, Andrew Levy, Ian Wallman and Jon Fletcher will collaborate with participants to write, record and produce great music.

“Unlike many songwriting retreats, we aim to sell the tracks that are written at our events,” says Lisa Fitzgibbon, who co-founded Pro7ect with Ivor Novello nominated producer/composer Ian Wallman. “These retreats are extremely creative environments and the standard of material produced is always very high. By ensuring that our material is good enough to sell, we can help propel participants into the sync and publishing arenas where we have already had success with tracks written at previous Pro7ect retreats.”

For the duration of Pro7ect, participants work in producer-led teams to write and record a track a day for four days. The teams are changed each day and the songs are either written for one of the artists in the room or to spec using tip sheets. Every evening there is a feedback session where teams play the result of their day’s work to the entire group.

The stimulating setting of the Hotel Pelirocco adds an additional element of creativity – the hotel has 19 individually themed rooms, each reflecting a different aspect of Rock’n’Roll culture. Since its inception, it has attracted many celebrity and music industry guests including the Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, Scissor Sisters, New Order, Chrissie Hynde and the Chemical Brothers.

The Pro7ect experience is highly collaborative and often results in a large volume of material being written and recorded in a very short pace for time. In 2016, for example, 14 participating songwriters and artists wrote and recorded 15 songs in four days. Two songs from Pro7ect’s 2015 retreat have been releases by UK artist Elle Exxe and there are several sync options on songs from 2016’s event.

The cost of participating in Pro7ect 2017 is between £789 and £969, which includes food and accommodation for five nights. Pro7ect is also offering limited edition Express Packages that don’t include accommodation but allow songwriters to take part in this valuable event for as little as two days. These packages are perfect for participants who can’t commit to the entire event, with prices ranging from £349 for two days, £499 for three days and £599 for four days.
