Survey available to create updates on industry standards
A new survey released by the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) will provide updates on labor installation standards for the commercial low voltage electronic systems industry. This survey will be available at the NSCA booth (C11156) during InfoComm 2012 in Las Vegas.
The new survey will produce a complete and updated list of labor standards most commonly used by systems integrators and will be available in the fall of 2012. The report produced from the survey results will provide a list of standards integrators can use on a daily basis when bidding jobs. In order to accurately portray standards in the industry, survey participants will be asked what information continues to be relevant, and what changes can be added. Information on categories of work to be measured are currently under-way, in addition to adding categories such as IT and wireless technologies and applications.
“Applications, technologies and job sites are continually changing, causing the labor rates to be difficult to track,” says Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “The updated report will increase efficiency to our integrators by providing tools to measure employee performance to competitors, efficiently estimating project costs, and better informing government agencies of how labor is distributed. All of which are beneficial both to the customer and the business owner.”
The Labor Installation Standard Surveys will be available in the NSCA booth at InfoComm 2012 and distributed to NSCA members as well as any other interested systems integrators in the electronic systems industry.
