RCF‘s active ART 745-A 15” active 2-way boasts best in class with 4″ HF compression driver

(Edison, New Jersey) RCF’s latest addition to its classic, best-selling ART series — the ART 745-A two-way powered speaker — is unique in its category, since it boasts a remarkable 4″ compression driver, generally only seen in flagship products. This makes it the only lightweight, portable loudspeaker on the market powered by such a large format driver.

This large 4” titanium dome voice coil neodymium CD driver injects the product with a unique vocal clarity and sound projection. Couple this with the 15” neodymium woofer (with 3.5″ voice coil), which offers an extremely linear response and a precise, deep low frequency control, along with a 1400 watt peak amplifier and comprehensive DSP, taking care of crossover, equalization, phase alignment, soft limiting and speaker protection, and the result is loudspeaker with an almost matchless performance value.

Thanks to its 90A° x 60A° CD horn, the ART 745-A will provide wide dispersion and an impressive maximum SPL of 133dB.

The secret of ART 745-A’s potency is in the design. At the core is the new ND 940 large format compression driver, which delivers one of the key advantages of the ART 745-A — the 4.0-inch voice coil, loaded on a 1.5″ CD horn. This allows a crossover point of 650Hz and therefore almost all of the vocal range can be produced by this driver — enabling better impulse response, fast waterfall decay and superior efficiency.

All compression drivers and transducers are precision and purpose built at RCF’s production facility in Italy, taking advantage of the company’s superior molding, assembly technologies and a wealth of professional knowledge and experience dedicated to achieving extremely high standards.

The result of the digital amplifier offers extremely high output, low distortion and incredibly natural sound. The amplifier also features a solid mechanical aluminium structure, which not only stabilizes it during transportation, but also assists in heat dissipation.

The rear panel input/output configuration features both XLR/Jack (Combo) balanced inputs, XLR output link, volume and a switchable EQ Mode (Flat/Boost).

The cabinet itself is molded in a special polypropylene composite material and is designed to dampen down vibrations even at maximum volume settings, while the reflex porting has been resized to offer more efficiency.

The ART 745-A is equipped with ergonomically designed forged aluminium handles with rubber handgrips for greater portability.

Finally, it can be used in standard configuration as well as in stage monitor mode, making it a highly flexible addition to the series.
