In an introduction that comprehensively ratchets up performance value in the portable PA category, JBL Professional has introduced the new MRX500 Series that is lighter, more compact, better performing and better value than any speaker system in its class. The new line consisting of five passive sound reinforcement loudspeakers, using JBL Professional 400W Differential Drive transducers, has been engineered to the highest standards to deliver professional-grade performance in a compact, robust form factor ideal for wide array of PA applications.

“The new MRX500 Series continues JBL Professional’s tradition of setting new performance standards in each of the markets that we serve,” explained Simon Jones, Director of Portable PA Marketing, JBL Professional. “Not only does the new MRX500 Series feature the same transducer technology as the VERTEC line array used by the world’s most successful, demanding artists, but it is specifically engineered to serve the needs of the ultra-portable market.”

Featuring a specially engineered lightweight plywood enclosure design and the lightweight 400W Differential Drive transducers, JBL Professional’s engineers have ensured the MRX500 Series is typically 20-30% lighter than competitive systems. Despite this remarkable weight, all units of the new MRX500 Series are battle-ready with a kick-resistant 16-gauge heavy-duty grille, and a DuraFlex finish, a tough textured scratch resistant surface. All models have successfully completed a grueling 100-hour power reliability test.

The JBL MRX515 15› two-way, multi-purpose speaker system boasts 70° x 70° nominal coverage with a power capacity of 400/800/1600 watt (continuous/ program/peak), a new annular polymer diaphragm compression driver and dual-angle pole socket. For added versatility, the MRX515 features two Neutrik NL4. And for extended bandwidth in one cabinet, the new JBL MRX525: Dual 15› two-way, speaker system also carries a 70° x 70° nominal coverage and more advanced power handling of 800/1600/3200 watt.

The MRX512M is a 12› two-way, multi-purpose speaker system with a 70° x 70° nominal coverage pattern and power handling of 400/800/1600 watt (continuous/program/peak). This loudspeaker features a Differential Drive 12› woofer, the new annular polymer diaphragm compression driver for optimum performance and also a handle and loop thru connector on top plate for easy access in monitor position. Easily mounted for a variety of applications, the MRX512M 12› features a dual-angle pole socket and two Neutrik NL4 connectors.

The MRX500 Series include two subwoofer choices. MRX518S: 18› subwoofers features 500/1000/2000 watt, direct-radiating, 2044G woofer whereas the MRX528S: Dual 18″ subwoofer features, 1000/2000/4000 watt direct-radiating, vertically-oriented, 2 x 2044H woofer. Both units offer dual Neutrik NL4 connectors with satellite loop thru capability.

“The new JBL MRX500 Series enables more musicians and DJs to consistently sound better without the heavy lifting. It’s a portable PA that’s actually portable” Jones continued. “Bringing such compelling advances in sonic performance and weight reduction, the MRX500 Series will ensure that musicians and DJs around the world can expect great sound and professional engineering – even at affordable price points!”
