Teq AV/IT is proud to announce to introduction of its new Twisted Pair (UTP/CAT5-type) product line. The product line features transmitters, 1×4 distributing transmitters, receivers with a range of 500ft, 1000ft, and a repeater-receiver that allows transmission of AV signals to up to 2000ft.

Teq AV/IT offers a number of ready to install kits, including the basic Qik-Install Kit that comes with a transmitter, a receiver, a VGA input cable, and a 50ft CAT5 cable. The kit is available for $395 list price and presents a great and cost-effective alternative to expensive VGA or RGBHV interfaces with bulky VGA/RGBHV coax cables.

The new product line is the ideal solution for customers that are looking for an economical and quick-to-install interface for one or more projectors, plasma displays, or LCDs.

One of the biggest advantages of Twisted Pair AV products is, that an existing CAT5 infrastructure may be utilized for AV signal transmission. This saves time, installation and material cost.

Twisted Pair products are being used in all applications from media distribution, presentation, training, and digital signage covering markets from schools, universities, colleges, board rooms, to security, public places, museums, retail stores, and many more.

“Twisted Pair products are rapidly replacing traditional interfaces due to lower cost, easier installation compared to traditional coaxial cable installations, while maintaining the signal quality over long distances. An interface usually allows a maximum distance of up to 200ft; the basic Twisted Pair interface (Qik-Install Kit) may reach up to 500-ft at SXGA or UXGA resolution,” explains Tom Noack, Director of Sales and Marketing. He continues:

“The quality of the transmitted video and audio signal is excellent even when using a common CAT5e cable. The big difference is that CAT5 cable is about a tenth of the cost of VGA or RGBHV coax cable. We include a free 50-ft CAT5 cable in each of our Qik-Install-Kits, which makes it easy for our customers to let go of traditional Computer Interfaces, Line Drivers, and heavy, expensive, and time consuming to install coax cables.”

The new product line is shipping as of January 2007.
