SkillsUSA Champions Announced

ICIA’s first SkillsUSA Championship featured competitions among high school and community college students from all over the country to test the students’ skills in a variety of fields. More than 4000 contestants competed in 72 job skill events.

A total of nine teams competed this year. The team from Ridgeview High School of Orange Park, Florida, won the A/V installation job skills portion of the championships during the closing ceremonies. Led by instructor Marc Hooks were students Mike Toth, Jennifer Butler and Michelle Horn. The participating schools were from California, Florida, Nebraska, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Texas and Utah. All schools participating indicated their desire to reenter the competition next year.
