Spotify wants to help its users curate the perfect playlist by enlisting AI. The streaming service has announced that AI Playlist is now in Beta for Spotify Premium users, beginning with users in the UK and Australia. Spotify gives some examples of text prompts that users can use to create the playlist that is right for them, including “an indie folk playlist to give my brain a big warm hug,” and “relaxing music to tide me over during allergy season.”
Users can use prompts that reference places, animals, activities, and much more. Spotify claims the most successful playlists are generated with prompts that contain a combination of genres, moods, artists, or decades. As the tool is still in Beta, tweaks and improvements are still being made.
Microsoft Teams continues to get smarter
For those that currently have access to the Beta, the new feature can be accessed by selecting “Your Library” at the bottom-right corner of the mobile app. From there, tap the “+” button at the top-right corner of the app and select “AI Playlist.” Then, select one of the suggest prompts or come up with your own. Once a playlist is created, you can preview and delete tracks, as well as revise choices by telling the AI what kind of changes you’d like to be made. Then, tapping “Create” will save your new playlist automatically to your library.
