Disneyland Paris’ hybrid fireworks/drone show spectacular in celebration of Bastille Day was record setting. The Guinness Book of World Records certified the show as featuring the “largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors/drones” thanks to a giant Mickey Mouse head comprised of 1,500 drones that rose into the sky during the show’s finale.

“In celebration of Bastille Day, the 1,495 drones illuminated the sky to represent some of the greatest symbols of French culture, such as the colors of French flag, the Eiffel Tower and the emblematic rose window of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris,” reads Disneyland Paris’ release.
The show was the result of four months of preparation between Disneyland Paris and Dronisos, its official technology supplier based in Bordeaux. The show featured an elaborate fireworks display simultaneously with an impressive drone show, bringing several Disney characters to life, including Beauty and the Beast’s Lumière.
