With the ability to transmit over CAT6/6A/7 cabling systems to a distance of 80m (295ft), the ALF-USB3-EXT is the ideal solution for extending the reach of USB peripheral devices such as cameras, microphones, digital signal processors (DSP’S), video bar’s and other USB devices—enabling presenters and others to have their equipment placed where they need it as opposed to being restricted by limited cable reach. This makes the ALF USB3 EXT USB 3.0 extender an ideal solution in the areas of security monitoring, gaming, industrial control, professional audio-visual, smart medical, and other fields.
The ALF-USB3-EXT consists of two modules: a receiver (RX) and transmitter (TX). With 4-ports for USB 3.0 device connections, the ALF-USB3-EXT is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB1.1, resulting in the ability to connect a wide range of equipment. It also functions as a USB hub. The transmitter supports USB 3.0 Super-Speed and is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen1x1, and USB 3.1 Gen1. Together, they form a system that extends the reach of many different types of devices—free from any delays that may be encountered with other types of extender products.
The Alfatron ALF-USB3-EXT also supports hot plugging of USB devices. These features make the ALF USB3 EXT USB 3.0 extender ideal for those environments where different types of equipment are routinely being connected and disconnected. Equally important, the ALF-USB3-EXT supports PoC (Power over Cable). Only the receiver is required to be connected to an electrical outlet. Further, the system is remarkably stable—thanks to its lightning and surge protection.
