LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System Honored With Electronic House Product of the Year Award and CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Jan. 26, 2012 — Atlona(R), a leading digital connectivity solutions provider, today announced that at the 2012 International CES, its new LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System was honored with both a 2012 Electronic House Product of the Year Award in the category of Multiroom Audio, and a CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Honoree Award in the Multi-Room Audio/Video category. In addition, demos of the wireless system were a big hit at the ShowStoppers press event. The LinkCast System is part of Atlona’s new Home Collection line, which made its debut at the 2012 International CES.
The Electronic House Product of the Year Awards honor the best technologies, products, and services for the electronic home. Award winners were chosen by a panel of several industry leaders, along with the editors of Electronic House and CE Pro. Since 1976, the prestigious CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards — presented by the Consumer Electronics Association — have given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers, and members of the trade press. This year, Atlona’s LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System stood out from the pack for judges of both awards.
Atlona’s LinkCast System allows home theater enthusiasts, gamers, laptop users, and more to connect multiple HDMI-based devices wirelessly to an HDTV or projector up to 40 feet away. LinkCast includes one A/V base station (AT-LINKCASTAV) and one LinkCast System Expander (AT-LINKCAST-HTX). The LinkCast A/V base station connects to the HDTV or projector’s HDMI input, while the LinkCast System Expander plugs into virtually any audio/video device with an HDMI output and standard USB connection for power. To further eliminate cable clutter, installation challenges, and costs, up to five different devices can be wirelessly connected to one LinkCast System with additional LinkCast Expanders, each sold separately.

In addition to the LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System, the Home Collection line includes Atlona’s LinkConnect HDMI cable series and the LinkConvert family of switchers, extenders, scalers, and converters. LinkConnect is a complete suite of cables, adapters, and other connectivity solutions capable of delivering ultra-high-speed bandwidth up to 17+ Gbps and up to 4k x 2k HD video resolution support. LinkConvert products featured at the 2012 International CES included Atlona’s high-performance 3×1 HDMI auto switcher (AT-HAD-V31) and VGA-to-HDMI scaler/converter (AT-HDView).
The Atlona Home Collection will be available to U.S. consumers in Q1 2012. The LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System will be making its European debut at ISE 2012 in booth 4U63, and will be available to European consumers in Q2 2012.
