Vann“s Brings in Panamax as its Power Management Brand

PETALUMA, Calif. — Feb. 8, 2007 — Vann‘s Inc., Montana‘s largest independent appliance and electronics multi-channel retailer, announces that its power management category will offer Panamax products exclusively starting this spring.

Established in 1961, Vann‘s started as a single retail location in Missoula, Mont., and has expanded to a total of six retail locations throughout the state, as well as launching a successful Web site (

) that accounts for about half of its business. To stay on top of customer demand and satisfaction, Vann‘s decided to replace its existing power management brand with Panamax products.

“Vann‘s is always looking for ways to offer more value to its customers. Panamax represents innovative, high-performance solutions that address today‘s consumer needs, such as the MAX In-Wall products which are perfect for mounting flat-panel TVs — the industry‘s most dynamic category.” said Rob Standley, director of multi-channel marketing and merchandising for Vann‘s. “Considering Vann‘s is a retailer that focuses on the specialty end of the consumer electronics industry, Panamax fits our niche well.”

Panamax has been the recognized name in power management for more than 30 years, with products that improve performance and protect electronic equipment. Panamax products ensure that electricity powering the delicate electronics inside home appliances, computers, telephones, and A/V equipment is clean and safe. Home theater equipment is particularly susceptible to damage caused by surges and to distortion caused by power contamination. So as home theaters have become more popular, Panamax products have become more essential to consumers.

Among the Panamax products to be offered by Vann‘s for home theater systems are the Panamax EX component line, MAX In-Wall and Flat Panel products, MAX 2, MAX 8, and SurgeProtector8 series, which include the company‘s protect-or-disconnect circuitry to cut power entirely in the event of a potentially catastrophic surge.

Vann‘s will also sell the new MAX 7500-PRO, designed specifically for home theater power management. The MAX 7500-PRO protects against electromagnetic, radio frequency interference, digital noise, and ground loops – all of which hurt the performance of a home theater system.

“Today‘s sophisticated home theater systems are bombarded with a great deal of interference and noise, which degrade overall performance. Our products help eliminate contamination, ensuring the optimal audio-visual experience for the end-user,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax. “We are proud that Vann‘s has recognized Panamax as a leader in the industry. Vann‘s is yet another PRO Group member that has made the switch to Panamax and Furman products.”
