CEDIA Expo is the opportunity of a lifetime for all residential electronic systems contractors. Only CEDIA Expo provides you with the chance to build a stronger business, educate your employees, and create stronger industry relationships — in one location and in just one week. CEDIA Expo exhibitors and attendees will flood the Colorado Convention Center and Denver streets beginning Sept. 3-7. Are your plans made yet? Registration is now open; early bird discounts end July 16. Register at www.cedia.org/expo.

You’ll spend one jam-packed week attending CEDIA University classes (be sure to take advantage of the 14 free classes that are offered; learn more at www.cedia.org/expo/att_free08.php), visiting, and networking with hundreds of exhibitors and attendees while taking in priceless knowledge to build a stronger business.

FACE YOUR BIGGEST ECONOMIC FEAR

In these unpredictable times, do you know what the forecast of our economy really is? With the future of the U.S. economy so unknown, CEDIA is proud to present Todd Buchholz as the 2008 CEDIA Expo keynote speaker. Buchholz is a world-renowned economist, best-selling author, and award-winning economics professor from Harvard. He will be speaking Friday, Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Korbel Ballroom at the Colorado Convention Center.

The Associated Press says, “He lights up economics with a wickedly sparkling wit,” and Success magazine named him one of the 21 top speakers for the 20th century. Buchholz has authored numerous books that have been translated into a dozen languages and that are used in universities nationwide — including Harvard, Brigham Young, and Princeton. Market Shock: Nine Economic and Social Upheavals that Will Shake Our Financial Future was released to rave reviews and dubbed outstanding by the Wall Street Journal. Buchholz is also author of the best-selling New Ideas from Dead Economists and From Here to Economy, which were lavishly praised by The New York Times and Financial Times. His latest book, Bringing the Jobs Home, was published by Penguin in September 2004.

He is currently a managing director of a $15 billion Tiger Hedge Fund and a contributing editor at Worth magazine, where he writes the “Global Markets” column. Buchholz served as White House Director for Economic Policy from 1989 to 1992. Buchholz won the Allyn Young Teaching Prize at Harvard, and he holds advanced degrees in economics and law from Cambridge and Harvard. He also holds several engineering and design patents.
