Excitement Builds for INFOCOMM 2001

May 1, 2001 12:00 PM

With Systems Showcases, the Display Systems Exploration, the Audio Systems Experience, and the new Networking Pavilion and Streaming Media Production Lab, INFOCOMM 2001 will introduce attendees to the latest technologies and applications. With 500 exhibitors in 300,000 square feet, special demonstrations will show how all of these technologies work.

Also this year, ICIA offers more than 100 educational seminars and workshops: three keynotes, six institute courses, 18 workshops and over 80 seminars. More than half of these are new offerings!

Projection Shoot-Out®. As INFOCOMM’s favorite special event, the Shoot-Out’s side-by-side comparison of new projectors has been a standard-setter for 13 years. This year, the latest LCD, DLP, D-ILA and plasma products on the market will be tested. All participating manufactures use the same image and signal so attendees can make a true performance comparison. Projectors will be displayed by category, including large-scale outdoor LED screens that will be exhibited outside for all of Las Vegas to see. Extron Electronics, Crestron, Stewart Filmscreen and QuVIS are ICIA’s Shoot-Out Partners; and a host of other companies participate as display comparison entrants or as educational sponsors.

Display Systems Exploration. Included in the Shoot-Out is the Display Systems Exploration (formerly the Projection Encounter), where educational information on system integration meets the side-by-side comparison of display technology. The Display Systems Exploration will focus on systems integration and design by demonstrating successful applications, design ideas and necessary skills.

Audio Systems Experience 2001. This event features audio applications, expert technology presenters and hands-on product comparisons. It incorporates audio, video and multimedia programs in a showcase that educates INFOCOMM attendees on sound systems.

Networking Pavilion. A/V meets IT in this new showcase that demonstrates the latest audio, video, distribution and control technologies. From digital audio over Ethernet and IP addressable projectors, to the state-of-the-art control systems managing signals across WAN, the Networking Pavilion features leading manufacturers’ newest technologies in a hands-on display area.

Streaming Media Production Lab. A working studio on the show floor, the Streaming Media Production lab will offer INFOCOMM attendees experience in producing streaming video programs for distribution over the Internet and private networks. It is geared toward educating production and rental/staging personnel on practical techniques for capturing, editing and posting video to the Web.
