Last Wednesday saw New Jersey’s Clementon Park and Splash World announce that its 2026 season would its last. The 119-year old park closed its doors for the last time on September 7th.

“After five memorable years, we are saddened to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close the park and plan to offer the park for sale,” the park’s website now reads. “It has been a privilege to care for a place that has meant so much to generations of families. We are hopeful that we will find a buyer who shares our love for Clementon Park and will carry its history and legacy forward. Thank you for the memories, the support and five wonderful seasons. We are truly grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.”
Originally opening as a trolley park in 1907, Clementon Park was run by the Gibbs family until 1977. It was acquired five years ago by IB Parks & Entertainment for $2.37 million at a foreclosure auction, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The 56-acre property includes an amusement park as well as a water park, including rides such as the Dragon Coaster and the Hellcat wooden coaster. Before Camden Park’s most recent aquisition, it closed for two years in 2019 when its owners sought foreclosure.
