[Photo: OLED-Info.com]At last month’s Display Week, BOE showcased the newest addition to their microdisplay lineup, a 1.3″, 4K model that is the company’s largest in the line.
OLED-Info reports that BOE stated at the show that the new microdisplay supports Foveal Mode, which allows the display to stack on top of another display for features to be presented in high resolution in the center of the user’s vision. Very similar technology is reported to be used in Apple’s upcoming VR headset, leading to speculation that BOE is positioning its self to become a microdisplay supplier for Apple.
As mentioned, the 1.3″ microdisplay is the company’s largest, with current models measuring 0.39″, 0.49″ and 0.71″ in full HD.
