The PolyKybd is a fully customizable keyboard with OLED displays in each keycap

While it is finishing up development, the PolyKybd will ship as a DIY kit

Developed by a modder known as thpoll, the PolyKybd is a highly customizable split keyboard that features mini OLED screens in each keycap. While the project has been in development for several years now, it looks like it is nearing completion, with updates from thpoll saying the hardware is finished and only the firmware development remains.

The PolyKybd is a split keyboard with transparent keycaps that shield .42 inch OLED screens. Each screen has a 72×40 resolution, and the whole thing will work off QMK open source firmware. Each half of the keyboard feature one slightly larger dedicated OLED screen to display status messages and control options, and are run by their own Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller.

While you’ll have to do some assembly to the keyboard when it ships, thepoll said he is aiming to have them retail at around $200, which would be a very competitive price in the mechanical keyboard space.
