Smart displays seem to be ubiquitous in modern technology, appearing in everything from personal accessories to the latest in Pro AV gear. Now even the connectivity options are getting their own displays, with the Nexode 240W USB-C to USB-C Cable from UGREEN being the latest example.
The 240W cable gives users access to information typically inaccessable from cables themselves, with a touch-capable small display showcasing data including current power levels, voltage, and current when plugged in.
“Once connected, [the cable] displays voltage (V), current (A), and power (W) in real time,” says UGREEN. “A light touch rotates the screen; a long press (over 2 seconds) turns the display off.”
This feature, rare in cabling, can help users troubleshoot devices that seem to be not holding a proper charge. The nylon braided cable is capable of up to 480Mbps data transfer, and supports USB 2.0. A smart E-Marker chip negotiates optimal charging, and the cable supports multiple voltage levels.
