WATCH: Behind the scenes look at sound design and composition used in Disney park attractions

Disney Imagineers show how they create audio for parks in "Soundscapes"

Walt Disney Imagineering has just released the second episode in their “We Call It Imagineering” series, taking a look behind the scenes at how imagineers create the audio component of new theme park experiences. Entitled “Soundscapes,” the episode is a deep dive into how sound design and composition help tell a story, be it in queue or during an attraction itself. Highlights include peek behind the curtain during the creation of the finale of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, as well as a showcase of new music coming to Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

$1.9 billion Disneyland expansion passed by city council with unanimous vote

“We really wanted to showcase New Orleans music, give people who are going to be in the queue line an experience of being in New Orleans,” says Grammy winner Terence Blanchard  and featured musician in the film The Princess and the Frog. “It will hopefully create a lasting memory and a relationship with the city.”

If you enjoy this sort of behind the scenes action, the first episode of the series, which can be viewed here, features a look at animatronics used at Disney parks, from their inception decades ago to new emerging technologies in the field.
