Cobalt Digital’s Pacific Line Wins Two Future Best of Show Awards at IBC

Manufacturer receives honors from both TV Tech and TVB Europe for advancements in compression technology

AMSTERDAM – September 30, 2026  — Cobalt Digital has added two more prestigious honors to its growing collection of industry awards. The leading designer and manufacturer of signal processing products, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, received Best of Show awards from both TV Tech and TVB Europe at IBC for solutions from its PACIFIC compression line.

TV Tech recognized Cobalt’s PACIFIC 9992-ENC with PACIFIC ULL-DEC-SAT-DEMOD, while TVB Europe honored the PACIFIC 9992-ENC-INDIGO Encoder with PACIFIC ULL-DEC Decoder.

Future’s Best of Show Awards celebrate the most innovative and impactful products and solutions showcased at IBC. Winners are selected by a panel of experienced engineers and industry experts who evaluate entries based on innovation, functionality, feature set, value and their potential to address the evolving needs of the broadcast and professional AV industries.

TV Tech recognized the value that COBALT’S PACIFIC 9992-ENC with PACIFIC ULL-DEC-SAT-DEMOD brings to broadcasters navigating the challenges created by the decline of the C-Band spectrum. The SAT-DEMOD factory option adds a DVB-S/S2 demodulator to the PACIFIC ULL-DEC enabling satellite signals to be decoded and made available simultaneously through ASI and IP. The PACIFIC ULL-DEC can also operate in a hybrid satellite-internet environment using VSF TR-06-4 Part 7, enabling the Internet to repair data corrupted in the space segment.

COBALT’S PACIFIC 9992-ENC-INDIGO Encoder with PACIFIC ULL-DEC Decoder received Best of Show honors from TVB Europe. Part of Cobalt’s growing PACIFIC compression line, the solution includes the PACIFIC ULL-DEC upgradeable software-defined broadcast decoder with an ST 2110/IPMX output option. The enhancement allows decoded content to be transported simultaneously over SDI and over ST 2110/IPMX, while a built-in frame sync provides a PTP-locked signal for ST 2110 operation.

“Cobalt is honored to have two PACIFIC compression line solutions recognized by both TV Tech and TVB Europe, two highly respected publications serving the broadcast and professional AV industries,” said Suzana Brady, svp of worldwide sales and marketing. “These awards reflect our commitment to developing practical solutions that deliver real value, helping broadcasters maximize their infrastructure while making the transition from SDI to ST 2110 and IPMX simpler, more flexible and more affordable.”

“IBC continues to be an important showcase for the technologies shaping the future of broadcast, media and professional AV. The 2026 Best of Show winners represent some of the most compelling products and solutions being introduced to the industry, demonstrating innovation that can make a real difference to professionals working across the sector,” said the TVBEurope awards editorial team.
