A massive fire broke out at a Tennessee amusement in the early hours of Friday morning.
The incident was reported at around 2:20 a.m. local time on Friday, Feb. 13, according to a Facebook statement from the Sevierville, Tenn., city government. Police officers from the Sevierville and Gatlinburg police departments were located nearby the SkyLand Ranch amusement park when they spotted the flames. Other passersby also reported seeing the blaze, according to the statement.
A few minutes after the initial report, members of the Sevierville Fire Department arrived to the scene to find “two large barns on the property were fully engulfed,” adding that “other nearby small structures were also damaged.”
According to the SkyLand Ranch’s website, the park is set on 100 acres of farm amongst Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains. The park offers experiences like a chairlift, a mountain coaster, a 300-foot-tall swing tower, a safari hayride and miniature animals like horses, cows, pigs, goats, alpacas, sheep and more.
On SkyLand Ranch’s Facebook page, they celebrated the work of the local authorities.
“ANIMALS ARE SAFE!! NO INJURIES!” they write. “Thank you to all the Sevierville and Sevier County Fire Departments and Sheriff Department for their swift response and help this morning.”
