Registration Now Open for Women in CE’s Career Enhancement Forum: ‘Power Your Career in Consumer Electronics’

Cathie Black, Best-Selling Author and Former Chairwoman/President of Hearst Magazines, Will Deliver Keynote for June 26 Event

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — April 5, 2012 — Registration is now open for the Women in Consumer Electronics (CE) Career Enhancement Forum, scheduled for June 26 in New York City, held in conjunction with CE Week. With the theme “Power Your Career in Consumer Electronics,” the inaugural Career Enhancement Forum will be held at the Rubin Museum of Art, 150 West 17th Street, New York City. The forum is sponsored by Women in CE, an industry organization that promotes the advancement of women in the consumer electronics industry.

The featured keynote speaker will be Cathie Black, former chairwoman and president of Hearst Magazines and New York Times best-selling author of “Basic Black: The Essential Guide to Getting Ahead at Work (And in Life).” Black will also moderate a roundtable discussion titled “Career Guidance from the Top” with a panel of high-level executives from across the consumer electronics industry. Additionally, the forum will feature an “Intrigue Anyone in Anything…in 60 Seconds!” workshop led by Ideapreneur Sam Horn. Horn, author of “POP!” — featured by MSNBC, BusinessWeek.com, Fastcompany.com, and the New York Times, will share her innovative techniques for creating a USP (unique strategic positioning) that makes a person one-of-a-kind instead of one-of-many.

The forum is open to women working in all segments of the CE industry including manufacturers, major retailers, specialty retailers, suppliers, integrators, distributors, manufacturers’ representatives, buying groups, and consultants.

“We’re thrilled to have someone of Cathie Black’s stature as our keynote for the inaugural Women in CE Career Enhancement Forum, and we guarantee that the event will have plenty to offer all women pursuing a career in the corporate, small business, or entrepreneurial aspects of the CE field,” said Carol Campbell, founder of Women in CE. “We’ve designed the program to offer useful tools and strategies for women throughout the supply chain of the industry to gain an edge and move ahead in CE-related fields. We encourage everyone to register today, as this Career Enhancement Forum will fill up quickly.”

Women in CE provides women in the consumer electronics industry a community in which to share essential resources and connect with others who are focused on the same vision of empowerment, building networks, and supporting career opportunities. Member benefits include a mentoring program, online resources, and live events.

Early bird registration for the Women in CE Career Enhancement Forum is now open and ends on April 20 for a $50 savings. In addition to forum attendance, the early bird registration fee of $199 includes a new one-year or one-year-extended membership to Women in CE.
