For the first time since its launch in 2012, LG Display has announced ahead of CES 2026 that it is rebranding its OLED technology lineup. The company’s OLED offerings will now be divided into two categories: Tandem OLED and Tandem WOLED.
This distinction is in part due to the display manufacturer’s new technology that it will be debuting at CES next month. While its current OLED technology will be known as Tandem OLED to reference the multiple panel layers, Tandem WOLED will refer to displays utilizing dual RGB layers for greater white light output and deeper blacks.
“Basically, ‘Tandem’ was chosen as the brand name to highlight the strengths of LG Display OLED, including increased durability and performance, long life, high brightness, and low power consumption through the laminated OLED structure,” LG Display clarified in a translated message, according to FlatPanelsHD.
